In addition to the more than 400 patients who are already queuing for the reception at Huddinge Hospital, a further 20 new referrals are received every week.

In January, the spread of omicron infection also reached peak levels, but how it will affect waiting times is difficult to predict.

- I can imagine two scenarios, such as that milder illness results in fewer postcovids, but on the other hand, more people have fallen ill, so maybe there will be more cases, says Christer Lidman, who hopes that the queues will have been shortened by the autumn.

Not cared for in hospital for covid-19

Most people who come to the reception were never cared for in hospital when they were ill with covid-19.

Exactly how many people suffer from postcovid after a covid-19 infection is currently unclear.

- When we look at international figures, it is between 10-30 percent who have one or more symptoms three months after the covid infection, says Christer Lidman.
