Hear the bird expert Jan Uddén talk about the lack of food that causes the birds to starve.

In the autumn, there were reports of starving and dead herring guillemots along the west coast - now comes a second wave of dead birds.

This time, puffins are also found, a species that does not breed in Sweden and which is also endangered.

Biologist Jan Uddén takes the situation seriously.

- It's a sad find.

I have received ten emails about dead puffins recently.

Found puffin on a walk

Martina Harrysson in Hunnebostrand is one of those who found a dead puffin, something that Bohuslänningen was the first to write about.

It was during a walk in Hästedal that she saw something washed up on the beach.

- It was a sad and unusual discovery, says Martina Harrysson who found the puffin in Hunnebostrand.

It was not until we saw the beak that we began to

suspect that it was a puffin.

We've never really seen it, so it felt cool and unusual.

"Sad discovery"

Martina posted the pictures on social media and soon realized that more people have made similar discoveries recently.

- When we understood that those poor people were starving, then it was rather a sad, unusual discovery, says Martina Harrysson.
