French alpine skiing has been waiting for its Olympic champion since Antoine Dénériaz's title in downhill in 2006... And it was Clément Nöel who gave him this gift by dominating the slalom at the 2022 Olympics on Wednesday February 16 in Yanqing, China.

In the very special event that is the slalom, France had not had an Olympic title for 20 years and Jean-Pierre Vidal's gold medal at the Salt Lake City Games in 2002 in the United States.

In Grenoble, Jean-Claude Killy became the first French Olympic slalom champion in 1968. Back in pictures on the French who put their skis on the top step of the podium in the slalom event at the Olympic Games.

  • In 1968, the Winter Olympics were held from February 6 to 18 in France, in Grenoble.

    And a Frenchman, Jean-Claude Killy, will break all records!

    He won three gold medals in the three alpine skiing disciplines on the program at the time: downhill, giant slalom and special slalom.
