Federal Decree-Law No. (33) of 2021 regulating labor relations, which officially entered into force on the second of February, defines 12 types of work permits that regulate the process of hiring citizens and expatriates in all facilities of the private sector in the country, including “a permit to recruit a worker from Outside the country,” which allows establishments registered in the ministry to bring in a worker from outside the country, a “transfer work permit,” under which the non-national worker is transferred to and from a facility registered in the ministry, “a permit for those who are on the residence of their relatives,” according to which those who are on Residency of their relatives to work in a facility registered with the Ministry. 

The list of 12 work permits also included a “temporary work permit” under which a worker is employed for work whose nature of execution or completion requires a specified period in one of the establishments registered in the ministry, and an “important work permit,” granted to one of the establishments registered in the ministry wishing to bring in a worker from abroad to accomplish Temporary work or a specific project with a fixed period, “part-time work permit” allows establishments registered in the Ministry to employ a worker under a part-time contract so that his working hours or working days are less than his full-time counterparts, and the worker can work for more than one employer after obtaining Permission to do so from the Ministry.

The permits also included a "juvenile work permit", under which those who reached the age of 15 and did not exceed 18 years of age are employed in a facility registered in the ministry, and a "student training and employment permit", which allows establishments registered in the ministry to train or employ a student in the country who has reached the age of 15 A year in accordance with specific controls and conditions, “a work permit for a citizen/children of the Gulf Cooperation Council”, which allows establishments registered in the Ministry to employ citizens or children of the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, “a work permit for holders of golden residency”, granted upon request of a facility registered in the Ministry to employ a worker Within the country of golden residency holders, a "trainee citizen work permit" is granted to establishments registered in the ministry wishing to train a citizen according to the approved scientific qualification "freelance work permit".This permit is granted to individuals wishing to engage in self-employment independently (on their self-residency for foreign individuals) without the sponsorship of a specific entity or employer in the country, stipulating the existence of a valid work contract, through which the natural person achieves direct income by providing his services for a specified period of time or To perform a task or provide a specific service, whether for individuals or establishments, so that this natural person is not, in any way, an employee of these individuals or establishments.
