At the end of the first day of the trial, when it is almost impossible to follow the list of all the hatred that the accused is said to have spewed out into the world, the man wants to testify directly.

"I'm going to give a comprehensive explanation of the matter," says Alexander M. He is "highly motivated" and doesn't want to "let things stand as they are".

But the judge disagrees, as does one of his lawyers.

A statement was agreed at a later date.

M. first contradicts, but then accepts it, grumbling and shaking his head.

The man, on whose testimony the Hessian security authorities depend a great deal, carefully follows the reading of the indictment on the first day of the trial before the Frankfurt district court.

For more than two hours, each of the more than 100 threats that M. is said to have sent by fax, e-mail or SMS is read out.

It's a never-ending list of hatred and misanthropy.

The target was always people who are different from the accused himself: women who are in the public eye in particular, women with a migration background, representatives of the Left Party, but also journalists.

M. is said to have referred to her as "Turkish sow", "cunt", "waste", "national pest" - the list could go on for a long time.

Data were not publicly available

The indictment accuses M., among other things, of insults in 67 cases, attempted coercion, threats, dissemination of signs of unconstitutional organizations, public incitement to commit crimes and violation of the Weapons Act.

Just listing all of his suspected possession of child and youth pornographic material takes a long time on Wednesday.

From August 2018 until his arrest in May 2021, M. is said to have sent threats to a large number of people and institutions.

In part, the writer of the threatening letter imitated the style of a court verdict, sending out “death sentences” on behalf of the German people.

Sometimes he described how he also wanted to murder the children and parents of those who were threatened.

The threats were usually signed with "Heil Hitler NSU 2.0", based on the "National Socialist Underground".

The first threatening letter - in the form of a fax, sent encrypted via an Internet provider - went to Frankfurt lawyer Seda Basay-Yildiz in August 2018, who represented relatives of a murder victim in the Munich NSU trial.

In the fax, M. wrote to the lawyer, according to the indictment, "You lousy Turkish pig aren't destroying Germany", he named her then two-year-old daughter and threatened to "slaughter" her.

In many other letters to the lawyer, he is said to have repeated the threats.

At times he is said to have directed them against her parents, also named and given their home address.

But none of the data was public.
