The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that the head of the British Foreign Office, Liz Truss, should apologize to the peoples of Russia, Ukraine and Great Britain for her statements about the “Russian invasion”.

“The head of the British Foreign Office is obliged to apologize for the spread of lies and she is obliged to apologize to the people of Russia, Ukraine and the people of Britain.

And also in front of those media who considered that her statements were true, ”Zakharova said during a weekly briefing.

The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that Truss became the face of the disinformation campaign of the West about the allegedly possible Russian aggression against Ukraine.

As Zakharova added, Truss's "absurd words" about the Russian invasion "does not even smell of logic."

The Foreign Ministry emphasized that the assertions made by Truss fully fit into the disinformation campaign being carried out by NATO countries.

Along with this, Zakharova suggested that now the UK must prove that London has no intentions to attack anyone, since Russia has repeatedly reported this.

“This is not the first time we have said that Russia has not attacked anyone and is not going to attack anyone.

But the NATO countries should explain themselves, everything is not so obvious with them.

Let Britain now prove that it is not going to attack anyone, that it has no such intentions, ”concluded Zakharova.

It should be noted that since 2021, Western media and certain political circles have been circulating information about Russia's allegedly impending "attack" on Ukraine.

A number of states have threatened Moscow with restrictive measures in the event of such a development of events, but in Russia at various levels have repeatedly denied the existence of any aggressive plans against Kiev.

“We succeed in talking between the dumb and the deaf”

Last week, Liz Truss paid an official visit to Moscow.

On February 10, she met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who called the conversation with his colleague about the situation around Ukraine "a conversation between the dumb and the deaf."

“To be honest, I am disappointed that we are getting a conversation between a deaf and a mute.

We seem to listen, but we do not hear.

At least our most detailed explanations fell on such unprepared soil," the minister said.

He drew attention to the many clarifications received from the Russian side about the current situation.

According to him, in the course of a conversation with British diplomats, there was a feeling that in London "either they are unfamiliar with the detailed explanations from the Russian side, or they completely ignored them."

"Highley Likely"

Truss later spoke again about the Russian "invasion" of Ukraine.

According to her, this scenario is “highly likely” (highly likely).

The day before, she commented to the British media about the return of Russian troops to their places of permanent deployment as the exercises in Belarus and Crimea are over.

She stated that she had not seen reports to this effect, and British intelligence still says that an "invasion" could happen soon.

The official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov, announced the return of units of the Western and Southern military districts to their places of permanent deployment.

“As the combat training activities are completed, the troops, as always, will make marches in a combined way to the points of permanent deployment,” said a representative of the Russian Defense Ministry.

The publication of the defense department dated February 15 stated that the units of the Southern Military District and the Western Military District, after completing the tasks assigned to them, began loading onto vehicles and would soon begin moving to their military garrisons.

Some units will march under their own power as part of military columns.
