"Canada will donate more than $7 million worth of lethal weapons and various support to the Ukrainian Armed Forces," the statement said.

As specified, the equipment includes machine guns, pistols and shotguns, 1.5 million rounds of ammunition, sniper rifles and various related equipment.

Earlier, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that the Canadian authorities had decided to provide Ukraine with lethal weapons worth about $6.1 million.

Russia's First Deputy Representative to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky, said that the escalation of the situation by the West should be blown away at some point, but the pumping of Ukraine with weapons will continue.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal specified that by now the partner states have provided military assistance to Kiev in the amount of about $1.5 billion.

The US Embassy in Ukraine has said that the United States intends to supply Kiev with about 90 more tons of ammunition and Javelin anti-tank systems.
