Let it be said, Beaujolais is capable of producing great local wines, far from the disastrous image of the bad new "Beaujolpifs"... At the top of the appellation are the 10 Beaujolais crus: Morgon, Brouilly, Côte from Brouilly, Chénas, Juliénas, Régnier, Fleurie, Moulin-à-vent, Chiroubles, and… Saint-Amour!

The last Saint-Amour is the northernmost of the Beaujolais crus.

It owes its name to the eponymous commune of Saône-et-Loire, around which its vineyard extends.

It was the Roman soldier Amor, who converted to Christianity and took refuge in these places, who left his name to this small village.

Saint-Amour has been an AOC-AOP since 1946. It now covers 315 hectares of vines, planted with the Beaujolais grape variety: Gamay.
