“The responses we received from the United States and other NATO members to proposals for security guarantees, in our opinion, do not meet the three basic Russian requirements mentioned,” he said.

The President noted that the documents contain a number of considerations that Moscow is ready to discuss.

“We are not only ready to discuss, but, in fact, we once proposed to our partners in previous years ... We are ready for this joint work and further,” Putin stressed.

US Permanent Representative to NATO Julian Smith earlier announced that the alliance partners are ready for dialogue with Russia on security issues.

According to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, the answer to the US and NATO counter proposals on security guarantees will be published.
