A man, accused of trafficking cannabis, in Lodève (Hérault), will be tried before the Montpellier Criminal Court on April 21.
He was arrested on Saturday by the gendarmes. The soldiers had been intrigued the day before by a particular smell, which escaped from a small street in this rural town.
The soldiers of the gendarmerie then carried out some research, to try to locate its origin, and succeeded in identifying a dwelling.
The next day, a search allowed the police to discover 257 feet of cannabis, in two rooms, as well as all the equipment necessary to promote their growth.
According to the gendarmes, the man admitted the facts of consumption, culture, and sale of narcotics.
The cannabis plants and equipment were seized and destroyed.
