The government plans to gradually ease the border measures for Omicron stocks from next month, and if certain conditions are met, it will allow foreigners to enter the country for purposes other than tourism, and will allow foreigners to enter the country on a daily basis. We are making adjustments to raise the upper limit from the current 3,500 to 5,000.

As a measure against the border of Omicron stocks, the government will suspend new entry of foreigners in principle by the end of this month, and will require Japanese returnees to wait at home for 7 days after entry. I'm taking it.

Regarding this, the government plans to gradually ease a series of border measures from next month, considering that knowledge on Omicron strains has been accumulated and it is expected that the third vaccination will proceed further.

Specifically, if certain conditions such as appropriate infection control measures are met, new entry of foreigners other than for tourism purposes is permitted, and the maximum number of foreigners entering the country per day, including foreigners, is now 3500. We are making adjustments to increase the number of people from 5,000 to 5,000.

In addition, waiting at home or accommodation for 7 days after entering Japan will be unnecessary if the test is negative on the 3rd day, and will be quarantine station for 10 to 3 days depending on the infection status of the place of stay. The policy is to have a uniform period of 3 days for measures to stay at designated accommodation facilities.

In addition, immigrants from areas where the spread of Omicron strains has not been seen after the third vaccination will be exempted from waiting after entering the country.

These policies are expected to be revealed at a press conference by Prime Minister Kishida tomorrow, along with the treatment of priority measures such as the prevention of spread in 21 prefectures, which are due on the 20th of this month.
