Generally grey, mild with rainy periods, sunny in the extreme south-east

On Wednesday, most of France will retain overcast skies and often widespread rain, only the Mediterranean rim and Corsica will benefit from bright skies, according to Météo-France forecasts.

On the massifs, snowfall will occur at the start of the day from 700 to 800 m altitude on the Jura and the interior Alpine valleys, around 1200 to 1300 m on the Vosges, the Massif Central and the Pyrenees.

With the thaw, the rain will replace the snow in the morning below 1800 to 2000 m altitude.

During the afternoon, the rains will become more scattered.

Winds of 60 to 70 km/h

Over the northern half of the country, the winds from the south-westerly sector will strengthen while in the interior peaks can reach 60 to 70 km/h.

Near the English Channel, gusts will increase to 70 to 90 km/h at the end of the afternoon.

On the other hand, in the Mediterranean regions, the weather will be less disturbed with a bright sky despite numerous cloudy periods.

The wind will blow moderately in the morning, but in the afternoon the tramontane will strengthen up to 80 to 90 km/h in gusts on Roussillon.

On the other hand, Corsica will find dry and sunny weather.

Lows will show 4 to 10 degrees

As for temperatures, except from Auvergne to the north of PACA where they will drop between -2 and +3 degrees, the minimums will show 4 to 10 degrees.

The maximum will be on the rise, with 10 to 14 degrees from the Grand-Est to the Massif Central and Rhône-Alpes, 12 to 16 degrees elsewhere, up to 16 to 18 degrees at the foot of the Pyrenees and near the Mediterranean.
