On February 13, local time, Brazilian man Andre Zhangmu (35 years old) previously filed a lawsuit, accusing the Immigration Bureau staff of inflicting violence on him without resisting, and demanding 5 million yen in compensation.
Some Japanese media released a video of the case, showing the process of Andre being brutalized by staff.
According to reports, Andre Zhangmu is of mixed Japanese and Pakistani blood, grew up in Brazil, and made a request to his parents after graduating from high school in 2005, hoping to go to Japan.
Subsequently, Andre married a Japanese woman and obtained a Japanese spouse visa.
However, due to various reasons, Andre divorced his wife and lost his eligibility to stay in Japan. He was detained in an asylum in January 2018.
In October of the same year, Andrei was told that he would be transferred to the "East Japan Immigration Management Center", because the center had revealed news that the detainee had committed suicide, and Andrei did not want to be transferred there.
Andrei said afterwards: "I didn't want to resist, I just wanted to calm down and talk. (At the time, I) hoped that the staff would seriously explain the reason for being transferred. I want to know the people who committed suicide at the East Japan Immigration Control Center (detailed). ) In fact, I was scared to go there.
