A hair salon in Old Nice was vandalized on Monday.

The particularity of this news story lies in the name of the brand, which bears that of Éric Zemmour.

The hairdresser namesake of the presidential candidate clarified that he had "no family ties" with him, and asked people to stop making fun of him.

It is an unusual homonym that invites itself into the presidential campaign.

A hairdressing salon was vandalized on Monday in Old Nice.

The reason: the sign bears the name... of Éric Zemmour.

This is the name of the hairdresser who runs the salon, and on BFMTV, he assured Tuesday that he had "no family ties" with the presidential candidate.

"I am a hairdresser, ambassador for a major brand, and at the same time artistic director of a large group. Nothing to do with Éric Zemmour, the journalist", he breathes, exasperated by the remarks.

"We are not related!"

Clients make appointments on behalf of candidates

"Me, I make women beautiful every day. This is the first salon I opened here several years ago, and I use the Éric Zemmour brand because it's my own name", continues the hairdresser, who specifies that he only met his namesake once ten years ago in Paris.

"It made my son smile," he recalls.

But the hairdresser Éric Zemmour no longer wants to laugh about it today.

"What is very disturbing is that breaking salon windows, I find it sucks. People who continue to take photos, it can make you laugh for two minutes but it's starting to be tiring", laments the hairdresser on BFMTV .

He also says that customers have fun making appointments in the name of Mélenchon or Le Pen.

"Physically, we don't look alike!"

The day after this news item, the Nice hairdresser received the support of candidate Éric Zemmour on Twitter.

"I thank him for the little note he put, if he can help me a little more to say that we have no family ties", said the Niçois, insisting on the fact that "physically", he and his namesake "don't look alike".

"I have a little more hair than him," smiles the hairdresser.

"I ask people to stop making the connection between him and me. He does not have a hairdresser, he is not a hairdresser, he has his life, I have mine", adds- he, emphasizing that this history of homonymy could impact his work.
