The Left Party wants the voters to be able to decide the future of the for-profit companies in the Swedish school and therefore proposes a referendum in connection with the parliamentary elections in September.

- Do we want the school to be a place for commercial actors who only want to make money on our children or do we want it to be an equal and compensatory school ?, says Nooshi Dadgostar.

Required majority

Opinion polls show that a majority of the Swedish people are against profit-making schools, but among the parliamentary parties there is a lack of a majority to stop profit-taking.

In order for a referendum to be relevant, a parliamentary majority must support it.

- We must now decide this big and important issue, the Riksdag has not succeeded in doing so, says Nooshi Dadgostar.

"Fundamental failure"

The Left Party believes that profit-maximizing companies are beginning to take increasing control of the school and that it is system-threatening.

V also believes that the market school has led to increased segregation and an environment where students do not get the knowledge they are entitled to.

- We have seen for many years now that the marketing school is a fundamental failure, says Nooshi Dadgostar and continues:

- It affects our own children and the whole of Sweden's future.
