Olena Rzhepishevska moved from Ukraine to Sweden 20 years ago, but follows developments in her home country through both news media and family members and research colleagues in the country.

She also has family in Russia and says she "does not see Russia as the enemy".

What she worries about when she hears about the escalation are all the weapons that several NATO countries supply Ukraine with.

- I do not want my country to be a weapons depot against Russia.

There are those who say that Ukrainians should fight for their country.

We do not want to fight - we want peace, says Olena Rzhepishevska about her attitude.

She calls for a diplomatic solution to the crisis.

Withdrawn flights worries

Olena Rzhepishevska says she has no major concerns for her family and relatives in Ukraine.

She has close contact with them and during the weekend, her mother, an uncle and a research colleague will not experience anything that stands out from everyday life.

- But then I also read on Facebook that some pack their stuff and get ready to flee the country, so there are different settings.

But I think that people there are less worried than we are here in Sweden.

Do you think you are more worried than your family?

- No, I have the same feeling.

But we are worried that they will close the air connections.

Several airlines no longer want to fly to Ukraine.

Then there will be problems, as many Ukrainians work abroad, says Olena Rzhepishevska.
