Svetov noted that instead of such expressions as "large-scale and immediate consequences", the West needs to use such words as "compromise", "search for common ground", "agreement".

“Time after time they come up with definitions of these sanctions.

This is no longer taken seriously, ”the political scientist explained.

According to the analyst, there is an understanding that possible sanctions against Russia "will not stop the life" of the country.

At the same time, the expert stressed that Russia's demands for security guarantees will be put forward again and again, despite all the threats.

Commenting on the latest statements about a possible “invasion” of Russia into Ukraine, the specialist expressed the opinion that “we will live in a state of this hysteria from our counterparties even in March.” 

In addition, the interlocutor of RT did not rule out provocations in the Donbass by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Earlier it was reported that the G7 countries are ready in the event of Russia's invasion of Ukraine to impose sanctions against Moscow, which will entail "large-scale and immediate consequences" for the Russian economy.
