Today, Monday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in the UAE capital for a two-day official visit, at the invitation of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Erdogan is accompanied during the visit by Foreign Ministers Mevlut Cavusoglu, Interior Suleyman Soylu, Finance Nureddin Nebti, Trade Mehmet Muş, and a number of other ministers.

He stressed that dialogue and cooperation between his country and the UAE are important in terms of stability and peace in the entire region.

Erdogan said - at a press conference today, Monday at Ataturk Airport in Istanbul - before heading to the UAE that relations between the two countries have entered a new stage, with the visit of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed to Ankara last November.

He added that the visit aims "to take the necessary steps to develop the momentum in our relations and raise them to the level they deserve again."

President Erdogan referred to Turkey's strong condemnation of the attacks on Abu Dhabi last January, stressing his country's stand against all forms of terrorism.

The two countries plan to sign 12 agreements - during this visit - covering the fields of investment, defense, transport, health and agriculture.

Erdogan and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi are scheduled to attend the signing ceremony of agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two countries, after a bilateral meeting and another at the level of delegations.

Anadolu Agency reported that President Erdogan will inaugurate the Turkish National Day at the "Expo Dubai" and meet a number of businessmen.
