A few hours before the opening of the trial for the death of Father Hamel at the special assize court in Paris on Monday, his sister testifies at the microphone of Europe 1. Roseline Hamel expressed this pain which has haunted her since the tragedy that occurred during mass at the church of Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray.

The attack had shocked the whole country.

In July 2016, we remember, two terrorists burst into mass at the church of Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray, in Normandy, and slaughtered Father Hamel in front of his parishioners.

Almost six years later, the pain is still intense for his sister, Roseline Hamel.

"I screamed so much when I learned a few meters from the church that the man who had died was my brother that I had a pulmonary eventration", remembered Roseline Hamel.

The possibility of grieving

"This drama will always be in our thoughts, on a daily basis, and one of my children said, 'I believe the pain is so great that there is no room for hatred,'" she said. pleaded.

"Perhaps we will be able, at the end of this trial, to manage to mourn. And that at least opens the possibility that no one will ever experience this again."

The trial of the Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray attack opens Monday in Paris, almost six years after the assassination of Father Jacques Hamel, with three members of the attackers' entourage in the box and a major absentee , the alleged instigator Rachid Kassim.

The three men expected in the box of the special assize court in Paris, Jean-Philippe Jean Louis, Farid Khelil and Yassine Sebaihia, are dismissed for "terrorist association of criminals".

They are suspected of having been aware of the projects of the two young men, of having shared their ideology or of having tried to reach Syria.

Roselyne Hamel will attend this trial until March 9.
