Metaverse is the idea that the next generation of internet will be more three-dimensional than today - with interconnected virtual worlds where users will be able to do most things in their everyday lives - but digitally.
Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg believes in the idea so much that he renamed the company Meta.
Although Meta's vision is 10-15 years ahead, what exists today can be described as an early version of metaverse.
