• Live Elections Castilla y León, last minute

The PP has won the

elections in Castilla y León

, but it will not be able to govern with its forces alone.

A pact with Vox is imposed, either forming an Executive coalition or signing a legislature pact.

Thus, the first autonomous community in extension turns towards a harder right without the liberal tint that Ciudadanos printed, a party that has been on the verge of disappearance.

The

popular ones

have achieved victory, but far from the overwhelming result to which they aspired, emulating the overwhelming triumph of Isabel Díaz Ayuso in Madrid last May.

With 90% of the votes counted, they will occupy 31 seats, 10 from the absolute majority.

From today, his candidate,

Alfonso Fernández Mañueco

, will have to sit down to negotiate with Vox, a formation that has taken a spectacular leap and with which the

popular

candidate would have guaranteed enough support to be invested in the first round and, later, in case of form a coalition Executive, govern with the relief of an absolute majority always conditioned by the designs of the radical right.

The advance of Vox, in fact, has capped popular

expectations

, which have barely improved its result compared to the May 2019 elections by two seats.

The transfer of votes from Ciudadanos to the PP that occurred in Madrid has not been reproduced in Castilla y León.

Here, the party that has benefited has been Vox.

The formation of Santiago Abascal, which presented a new candidate,

Juan García-Gallardo

, has gone from having a single attorney in the Castilian-Leonese Cortes to taking over 13 positions.

His approaches and his demands will decisively mark the policy that will be deployed in the community from now on.

And not only, because these results will impress character on the national scene.

Pablo Casado does not have the undoubted success that he claimed to consider definitively undertaken the change in the political cycle that he is pursuing with his sights set on the next general elections.

The PSOE, for its part, remains the second force, but registering a severe setback at the polls.

In the 2019 elections, the socialist candidate,

Luis Tudanca

, won the elections with 35 seats, although the PP-Ciudadanos pact ultimately snatched the Presidency from him.

Today, however, two and a half years later, he has not been able to repeat the feat.

The polls have stolen this time seven prosecutors and has gone from 35 to 28.

The PSOE has been harmed by the irruption of formations of a provincial nature, such as Soria Ya and Unión del Pueblo Leonés, who have managed to get three attorneys each in their respective territories.

For Ávila, a split from the PP, he has revalidated his seat, while United We Can, the force that in principle would be a natural ally of the PSOE, has only obtained one representative, the same as Ciudadanos.
