As the agency recalls, on the eve of an extraordinary meeting of the upper house of parliament, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that it is necessary to give way to the management of the state to young leaders.
"In accordance with the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan, the country's Central Election Commission has begun preparations for early presidential elections to be held on March 12," Karaev said.
It is clarified that a citizen of the country, who was born in Turkmenistan, is not younger than forty years old, speaks the state language and has been permanently residing and working in Turkmenistan for the previous fifteen years, can be elected president of Turkmenistan.
