It all happened in a public space at the youth home on Monday.

The employee who was exposed to the threat received help from three colleagues who came to the rescue.

The staff then managed to lock the door to the ward, which was subjected to extensive damage by the upset young people.

Police were alerted and were eventually able to calm the situation and curb the upset mood.

Following the incident, the police have drawn up a report of unlawful threats and vandalism.
