At the end of 2021, 5.3 percent of Mjölby residents were unemployed - the lowest figure in ten years, according to information on the municipality's website. From July 2020 to the end of last year, unemployment in Mjölby has fallen faster than in the county and the rest of the country.
Youth and long-term unemployment have also fallen: the former to 7.8 per cent and the latter to 15 per cent last year, at the same time as it rose in the country.
In Östergötland, 7.6 percent and in Sweden 7.2 percent were unemployed at the end of 2021.
Unemployment in the municipality reached a peak of 1,147 people in July 2020 when the corona pandemic broke out.
