Two months before the presidential election, Emmanuel Macron has unveiled the content of his energy plan for France.

The Head of State announced the construction of six new new generation reactors to meet the energy challenge, with an increase in needs in France.

Emmanuel Macron proudly announced "the rebirth of French nuclear power" with, initially, the construction of six new generation reactors for initial commissioning by 2035. To this is added the study for eight additional EPRs for the end of the 2040s.

The question of renewable energies

To do this, the Head of State promises "massive" public funding of several tens of billions of euros.

Another flagship announcement is the extension of all existing reactors.

"I hope that no nuclear reactor in a state of production will be closed in the future, given the very significant increase in our electricity needs", declared Emmanuel Macron.

"Except, of course, if security reasons are necessary."
