Ever heard of "cat scratch disease"?

Many people must be shaking their heads because cat scratch disease is a very rare disease.

The reporter learned from the North Jiangsu People's Hospital of Jiangsu Province on the 10th that the hospital recently admitted a case of cat scratch disease caused by keeping a pet cat. The patient initially came to the hospital's hematology department for treatment due to swollen lymph nodes.

According to reports, at the end of last year, Ms. Wang's right groin lymph node was swollen like an egg, and later two small lymph nodes appeared in her left groin.

She went out to seek medical treatment and tried external application of local remedies to treat the lymph node lumps. Who would have known that after using the remedies, the skin of several lymph node lumps was damaged in large areas, and pus was accumulated.

A week later, she went to the new district hospital to find relevant experts.

This time, Ms. Wang listened to the opinions of experts and performed a further puncture examination. She was found to be infected with Bartonella henselae, and was diagnosed as a rare cat-scratch disease.

Recently, Ms. Wang's wound recovered well and was discharged from the hospital.

According to experts, cat scratch disease is very rare. The typical symptoms are skin damage and swollen lymph nodes. 3 to 10 days after being scratched, bitten, or licked by kittens, erythema and papules with a diameter of 3 to 4 mm may appear on the skin lesions.

The disease is very easily misdiagnosed.

Patients with immunocompromised and valvular heart disease should avoid cats, especially kittens.
