Moscow has overcome the peak incidence of the Omicron strain.

This was announced in his blog by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.

“The peak of omicron diseases in Moscow has obviously passed.

Just like in other European cities - in three to four weeks.

Last week, the number of new cases of covid decreased by 6%, this week the decrease will be even more significant.

Yesterday's growth was due to a change in accounting methods.

The incidence continues to decline," Sobyanin stressed.

The day before, the capital's operational headquarters reported that they began to include data from rapid tests in statistics on COVID-19.

According to Sobyanin, the Moscow healthcare system is coping with an unprecedented load.

He noted that the reception of patients in polyclinics goes almost without queues, and the doctor’s home visit is carried out within a day.

Also, there are no problems with dialing the ambulance and emergency numbers, the ambulance team in emergency cases arrives within 11-12 minutes, as on ordinary days.

“On behalf of Muscovites, I thank our wonderful doctors, paramedics and nurses, administrators and all employees of polyclinics for this professional and human feat,” the mayor added.

Sobyanin also stressed that the current situation makes it possible to increase the volume of planned care in polyclinics from Monday, February 14.

“There is an opportunity to pay more attention to patients who need special care: Muscovites over 65 years old.

In case of covid disease, doctors will visit them at home, regardless of the severity of the disease, which, of course, will provide a more comprehensive approach to the management of such patients, especially taking into account comorbidities,” he added.

Over the past 24 hours, 1,342 people have been hospitalized in Moscow (the number of detected cases of the disease is 18,541).

21,615 patients have recovered.

81 people have died, all were diagnosed with pneumonia and tested positive for COVID-19.

In total, 19,281 people diagnosed with coronavirus infection were hospitalized in Russian hospitals over the past day, which is 0.85% less than the day before (19,446).

The daily increase in the number of cases of COVID-19 across the country amounted to 203,949. Most of the new cases, in addition to Moscow, were detected in St. Petersburg (22,070) and the Moscow Region (8,967).

Over the past day, 112,236 patients have fully recovered, 722 people have died.

The total number of cases of coronavirus registered in Russia is 13,731,794. 11,021,633 people have recovered, the number of deaths has reached 338,813.

On February 10, the Russian Ministry of Health approved clinical trials of the CoronaDerm-PS skin test to determine cellular immunity to COVID-19.

The permit was issued to the St. Petersburg Pasteur Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology.

This follows from the data of the state register of approved clinical trials.

“A simple, blind, placebo-controlled study of the safety, reactogenicity, and specific activity of the recombinant SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus allergen (CoronaDerm-PS) in volunteers aged 18 years and over (Phase I-II),” the registry says.

The purpose of the study was to study the safety and reactogenicity, as well as to evaluate the specific activity of CoronaDerm-PS.

The study will involve 460 adult volunteers.

In April 2021, the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, announced the conduct of preclinical skin test studies.

At the end of January 2022, the director of the Pasteur Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, Areg Totolyan, reported that the test would reveal immunity both after vaccination and after being infected with coronavirus.

In addition, a permit was issued the day before to conduct phase III clinical trials of the EpiVacCorona-N vaccine for people over 60 years of age.

The trial will involve 300 volunteers in this age group who have had the infection six and 12 months ago or were vaccinated six months ago.
