He added: "According to the resolution of the government's Interagency Anti-epidemic Team (IATF), people who do not have the new version of the vaccination certificate when traveling in the country can still use the old vaccination card."
The Philippine Department of Health urges Filipinos who have obtained a COVID-19 vaccination certificate before February 7, 2022, to log on to the website to apply for the new version of the vaccination certificate.
The Ministry of Health said that with the new version of the certificate, the QR code of the old certificate will be invalid.
Gainde pointed out that more than 50 countries have recognized the COVID-19 vaccination certificate issued by the Philippines.
