Émilie Chalas, municipal councilor in Grenoble (Isère) and four of her supporters filed an appeal on January 22 before the administrative court.

The objective: to verify the legality of the wooden shelter, installed on the Pierre-et-Marie-Curie roundabout, via a construction site open to the public (COP), reports France Bleu Isère.

This shelter, a meeting place for Yellow Vests, also benefited from 11,800 euros in funding from the town hall.

A misunderstanding for these five Grenoble residents who recall that one million euros in damage had been recorded in Isère during the crisis.

A decision that could be long

“It is therefore to this [the Yellow Vests movement] that the City of Grenoble gives 12,000 euros for street furniture.

The same street furniture which has therefore been destroyed for months, ”lamented Émilie Chalas at the microphone of our colleagues.

Especially since the money could be likened to a “subsidy in kind” to a political group.

According to the lawyer for the five Grenoble residents, this appeal could take a year or even a year and a half.
