On the day of the European emergency call, the Frankfurt fire brigade, together with more than 50 professional fire brigades from all over Germany, is starting the "Twitter thunderstorm over Germany" campaign this Friday.

Between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. they report on their operations under the hashtag #112live.

They also provide insights into exercises of the special units and the volunteer fire brigade.

For Frankfurt specifically, you can find posts under the hashtag #Frankfurt112.

There, for example, insights into the training at the academy next to the main fire station in Eckenheim are also given.

The nationwide campaign is taking place for the fourth time.

The aim is to raise awareness of the emergency number 112, which has been in use almost throughout Europe since 1991.

This is intended to provide information about correct behavior in emergency situations and when making emergency calls, as well as about risk prevention.

Many people are unsure how to act in the event of an emergency call and what information the control center employee needs in order to provide quick help.

The emergency number is still frequently misused, according to the fire brigade.
