Dismissal canceled

After more than ten years of proceedings and a reversal of the French justice which had initially pronounced a dismissal, the company and the aircraft manufacturer had lodged appeals in cassation against their referral to correctional.

“Thirteen years were needed to finally get a trial to take place.

Flight AF447 between Rio de Janeiro and Paris crashed in the middle of the Atlantic on June 1, 2009. The pilots were disoriented by a technical failure in the middle of the unstable weather zone of the “doldrums”.

They had not managed to catch the stall of the A330, resulting in the death of 216 passengers and 12 crew members.
