According to him, Helsinki attaches importance to NATO being able to continue its open door policy.

He noted that Finland's foreign policy is stable.

Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that Sweden and Finland meet NATO standards in most areas. 

He stressed that they can become members of the alliance "very quickly" if they make such a request.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called the NATO Secretary General's statements about his readiness to accept Finland and Sweden into the alliance an attempt to put pressure on the policies of these countries.
