“According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Russian officials will not take part in the upcoming meeting of the Munich Conference on Security Policy on February 18-20 this year for various reasons,” she said.

Zakharova added that the Munich Conference in recent years has been increasingly transforming into a “transatlantic forum” and is losing its inclusiveness and objectivity.

Earlier, the Kremlin said that Russian President Vladimir Putin has no plans to participate in the Munich Security Conference in any format.

The event for the first time in two years should be held in person on February 18-20.
