François Beya, special adviser to Félix Tshisekedi in matters of security, is still being held in premises of the National Intelligence Agency (ANR) in Kinshasa.
According to the Congolese presidency, he was arrested following "
serious indications attesting to actions against national security
".
But the presidency has already announced that Jean-Claude Bukasa, one of his assistants, will assume the interim.
Unlike François Beya, he does not come from the former regime of Joseph Kabila, but is one of the president's trusted men.

If the precise facts in charge of
François Beya are still not revealed
, the entourage of the President of the Republic evokes "
a serious situation which would have had an impact on the power and the security
" of Félix Tshisekedi.
In its only press release on this affair, the presidency did not fail to specify that the change at the head of the country can only take place by electoral means.
François Beya is not the only one concerned in
this case
, because the investigations are continuing: arrests are also planned in the army.
Some of the top brass cannot leave the country.
Border services are seized for this purpose, explains another security source.
But the François Beya page has already been turned to the Presidency of the Republic, allowing Félix Tshisekedi to strengthen his control over the security apparatus by appointing the successor to the President's special adviser on security.

Jean-Claude Bukasa was active in the UDPS, the ruling party.
First active in Canada, where he resided, this graduate in cybercrime became closer to the team of Félix Tshisekedi during the 2018 election campaign: we particularly saw him in the communication team.
Once elected, it is moreover Felix Tshisekedi himself who will appoint him within the security services, and not François Beya.

Everything went quickly for Jean-Claude Bukasa, despite sometimes difficult relations with François Beya, according to certain sources.
Jean-Claude Bukasa has multiplied training, at home and abroad, but other relatives of Félix Tshisekedi specify that the interim should not last long.
And Jean-Claude Bukasa will be replaced by “
a more experienced expert
”.
