Beijing Olympics: everything you need to know to follow the competition

The kick-off of the Winter Olympics was given on February 4.

This high mass of sport will end on February 20 but, until then, the hunt for medals has some unforgettable moments in store for you.

After the Summer Olympics in 2008, Beijing is the first city to achieve the feat of also hosting the winter version of the competition.

Despite the pandemic, more than 2,800 athletes representing 91 nations made the trip.

Among them, you will find 88 French people who will try to do better than the Pyeongchang harvest which totaled 15 Olympic medals (5 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze).

While Quentin Fillon Maillet won the first gold medal of this campaign in the individual biathlon event, France can count on many other talents to shine.

Tessa Worley failed to win in the giant slalom, but will have other opportunities to demonstrate her talent in alpine skiing.

We must also not forget Kevin Rolland who dominates Freestyle skiing and the dance duo Gabriella Papadakis - Guillaume Cizeron who are determined to win the most precious of metals.

The alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and freestyle events will enliven each day of the competition until the closing ceremony.

The figure skating events will begin on the 10th with the entry into the running of the French dancers on the 12th.
