In the clip, you follow into Munkådalen and hear Bo Lindvert, from Framtid Fristad, tell more about why they want the area to become a reserve.

Last summer, the association Framtid Fristad invited municipal politicians on a walk in Munkådalen, but so far they have not received a response.

- We are fighting to get Munkån's valley protected for the future, it would make people more aware and then they would probably show up in another way as well, says Bo Lindvert, from the association Framtid Fristad, which works to influence locally in the area.

"Dumped garden waste"

In addition to trout, there are also about thirty bird species in Munkådalen, one of which is the red-winged thrush, which is classified as endangered.

- There is fantastic flora and fauna here, but garden waste is dumped and with it invasive species such as park slides can be spread, and then it is run for the valley.

Other areas are prioritized

But at present, the city of Borås wants to prioritize protecting other areas.

 - We have many nature areas worthy of protection in Borås.

It is mainly where we see that there is a threat to an area's values that we are looking at making a nature reserve out of it, says municipal councilor Tom Andersson (MP).

But there is some littering going on there?

- Yes, it is something we know about and work with already, it is about signage and information to nearby residents, among other things.
