Every day for the next year, the fishermen in the large aquariums at Universeum at Korsvägen in Gothenburg will have to endure explosions for ten minutes every morning.
The reason is that the Swedish Transport Administration's work with Västlänken has now begun the stage where you have to dig down 20 meters to be able to start casting the concrete part of station Korsvägen.
Fish are given a chance to prepare
Marine biologists at Universeum have been able to see that the fish are stressed and scared when it explodes.
To protect them, an ingenious system has been developed to give fishermen a chance to prepare.
- Before we had the system, we got stronger reactions, says Terese Schwartz, marine biologist at Universeum.
