The Minister of National Education, Jean-Michel Blanquer, announced on Tuesday the launch of the application to help victims of cyberbullying.

Baptized 3018, named after the emergency help number, it makes it possible to report cases, which will be transmitted to whom it may concern for their deletion.

A new application to help victims of cyberbullying, which allows in particular to send a screenshot to document the harassment, was launched on Tuesday by the Minister of National Education Jean-Michel Blanquer visiting a high school in Hauts -de-Seine.

The 3018 app, the emergency help number for cyberbullying, also allows you to "discuss" on a "chat" to report risky situations, especially in schools.

Reports submitted for deletion

These reports will then be transmitted to the social networks so that they remove the content in question or to the Pharos platform, the official portal for reporting illegal content on the internet, for the most serious cases.

The ministry thus hopes to ensure "rapid care for the victim".

Announced in November by Emmanuel Macron, this application, available since Tuesday, was "made in six weeks", it is "simple" and "corresponds to the objectives", indicated Stéphane Richard, the CEO of Orange who developed it. in conjunction with the e-Enfance association.

"The question of harassment is to be looked at in the face, we want it to be reported, that there is no silence around it, you have to talk about it, that it stops", explained Jean-Michel Blanquer in front of students from the Prony vocational high school in Asnières-sur-Seine (Hauts-de-Seine), in the presence of Brigitte Macron and Adrien Taquet, Secretary of State for Children.

6% to 10% of students concerned

In total, 6 to 10% of students experience some form of bullying during their schooling and a quarter of middle school students face cyberbullying, according to a Senate report published in September.

Harassment can have dramatic consequences, as recalled at the end of October by the suicide of Dinah, a 14-year-old high school student in Mulhouse (Haut-Rhin).
