A man, suspected of having violently hit a police officer from the Anti-Crime Brigade, Tuesday evening, in the Paul-Valéry city, in Montpellier (Hérault), was arrested, said Hugues Moutouh, the prefect of Hérault, Friday .

While carrying out, with two colleagues, the control of a reported stolen vehicle, the driver is accused of having engaged the reverse gear and having struck it.

"The driver then threw the vehicle against a parked car, which had the effect of causing the police officer's leg to be crushed between the two vehicles", indicated the Montpellier prosecutor, Fabrice Bélargent.

Supported by the emergency services and transported to the hospital, the policeman has since been out of the woods.
