Marine Le Pen says France will leave NATO if she takes over

She said this during a meeting with voters in Reims.

According to her, France needs to freely defend its interests and withdraw from military blocs.

“Therefore, we will leave the NATO unified command so that we can no longer be drawn into other people's conflicts,” RIA Novosti quotes her.

The French presidential election is scheduled for April 2022.

In July 2021, Le Pen was re-elected leader of the National Rally.

Earlier, French presidential candidate Eric Zemmour said he considers it important for the country to be a friend of Russia and not allow the United States to quarrel between Berlin, Paris and Moscow.
