“32 analyzed samples belonged to the BA.1.1 line and two belonged to the BA.2 subvariant.

Two more cases of BA.2 were confirmed in Sao Paulo.

The head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, previously announced the discovery of a subspecies of the Omicron BA.2 strain in Russia.

According to her, the largest number of infected people was confirmed in Moscow, the Republic of Mari El, the Rostov region, the Republic of Bashkortostan.

At the same time, subspecies VA.3 has not been identified in Russia.
