In Vendée, a woman has just been indicted for "deprivation of care resulting in the death" of her 20-month-old child.
She was placed in pre-trial detention, said the prosecutor of La Roche-sur-Yon, Thursday, February 2.
The 24-year-old woman called the emergency services on Monday after finding her child dead.
They had tried to resuscitate him.
Without success.
“The autopsy did not make it possible to determine in an absolutely exact manner the causes of death.
But the medical examiner noted signs of malnutrition, dehydration and a lack of hygiene care, ”explained prosecutor Emmanuelle Lepissier.
The child's mother was immediately taken into custody.
"She ended up admitting that she had taken less care of this child since the birth of her baby," said the prosecutor.
The one-and-a-half-month-old infant and the eldest of the three children, aged 3, were placed in Child Welfare.
