This is a shell that will be expensive!

On the occasion of the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, who will celebrate her 70th anniversary on February 6, a Chinese company has produced thousands of tableware items… with a typo.

Indeed, 10,000 tea sets, mugs and plates bear the mention “Platinum Jubbly”, reports the

BBC

relayed by

CNews

.

The exact spelling being “Platinum Jubilee”, the British partner of the company obviously did not follow up on the order of the famous souvenirs.

A lot resold ten times cheaper

Without a buyer, the Chinese company then decided to sell this colossal lot to Wholesale Clearance, a wholesale resale site.

The misprinted crockery items are now on sale for 32,400 pounds sterling (nearly 39,000 euros), ten times less than their original price.

Interviewed by the

BBC

, the director of the wholesale resale website took the matter with great humor.

“What could be more unique than our misprinted tableware?

", did he declare.

Will these articles with a fault become collectors items?

The future will tell.
