“A decree of the Government of Russia was signed providing for the introduction of a temporary ban on the export of ammonium nitrate from February 2 to April 1, 2022 inclusive,” the message says.

The department noted that currently in Russia there is an increased demand for nitrogen fertilizers from industrial enterprises and producers of agricultural goods.

"Export restrictions will provide domestic farmers with the necessary amount of ammonium nitrate during the period of its maximum purchases - from January to March, as well as prevent an increase in prices for this type of fertilizer in conditions of active demand," said Dmitry Patrushev, Minister of Agriculture.

In October, the Minister for Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Andrey Slepnev, said that the growth of Russia's mutual trade with non-CIS countries in 2021 amounted to 35%, and the increase in trade with the EEC countries reached 24%.

As NSN reported, the volume of non-commodity non-energy exports of Moscow exceeded $29 billion in January-November 2021.
