The Turkish ambassador to Libya, Kenan Yilmaz, said today, Saturday, that the presence of Turkish forces in this country came based on an official memorandum of cooperation between the two countries to provide advice and training.
In a press conference in the city of Benghazi (eastern Libya) with the mayor of the city's municipality, Saqr Omran Bujwari, Yilmaz expressed his country's desire to reopen its consulate in the city when conditions are appropriate.
He also expressed Ankara's desire to return flights between the two countries as soon as technical arrangements are completed.
The Turkish ambassador indicated that businessmen from the Libyan and Turkish sides discussed in Benghazi the resumption of previous projects, and the implementation of new projects in the next stage.
The Turkish ambassador arrived in Benghazi this morning, and was received by the Mayor of Benghazi Municipality, a number of members of the House of Representatives, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Technical Affairs, and a group of businessmen.

Qatroun attack
On the other hand, the US ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, condemned what he described as the recent terrorist attack that took place in Jabal Asida, 70 kilometers from the city of Qatrun, 700 kilometers south of the capital, Tripoli, and resulted in the killing of 3 security personnel.
Norland said the United States supports efforts to preserve Libya's sovereignty, combat terrorism, improve security in the border region, and unify military forces.
According to reports, the forces of retired Libyan Major General Khalifa Haftar used planes while chasing the perpetrators of the attack, which was claimed by ISIS.
