This was reported in the press service of the Pentagon.

“Military leaders continued to exchange assessments of the developing security situation in Eastern Europe,” RIA Novosti reports.

As noted, Milley "reaffirmed US policy aimed at continuing support for an independent Ukraine and its goals, as well as Washington's efforts to expand Kiev's ability to defend itself."

The press service added that "Ukraine plays a particularly important role in maintaining peace and stability in Europe."

Earlier, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that the Ukrainian crisis is much larger than Ukraine itself and "worries the entire world community."
