According to RIA Novosti, out of 54 defendants, one person was sentenced to ten years in prison, two more were acquitted.

It is noted that those sentenced to death will serve life imprisonment, as there is currently a moratorium on the death penalty in the Congo.

In 2017, the authorities of the Democratic Republic of the Congo announced the discovery of the remains of two foreigners, UN inspectors, as well as their translator from among the local residents.
