North Korea fired a projectile of unknown type into the East Sea this morning (30th).

The Joint Chiefs of Staff made this statement through a text message sent to the reporters at 7:57 am this morning.

Military authorities are analyzing specifications such as the range, altitude, and speed of the projectile.

This launch is the seventh armed protest in the new year, three days after North Korea fired two short-range ballistic missiles, 'surface-to-ground tactical guided missiles' on the 27th.
