She said that in the morning two posts appeared on the blogger’s page on social networks that he was “beaten in Cairo, and Russian diplomats are not involved in it,” in connection with which he asked his subscribers to call the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At the same time, she stressed that Russian diplomats took up the situation with Kotov immediately after receiving information from him.

“Blogger Kotov was pulled out of prison by Russian diplomats.

Blogger Kotov could really sit down, ”she wrote in her Telegram channel.

According to her, after that, Kotov deleted two of his posts on social networks with a call for help and a story “about unhelpful Russian diplomats,” but did not write about his release.

“Journalists and just those who are not indifferent are still writing: how is the blogger Kotov?

Call blogger Kotov and ask him to tell his audience that he was released by Russian diplomats,” Zakharova said.

Earlier, the Russian Embassy in Cairo reported that on the evening of January 26, a Russian was filming in the Manshiyat Nasser district of Cairo, where he had a conflict with local residents, as a result of which the photographer was detained by the police.

The embassy also sent a note to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry in connection with the detention of Semeny.
