Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani assured his Iranian counterpart, Hussein Amir Abdullahian, in talks that took place between them in Tehran today, Thursday, that calm, dialogue and respect are the means of stability in the region.

On the other hand, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said that the two ministers discussed bilateral and regional issues, including Afghanistan and Yemen.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry added that Abdullahian assured his Qatari counterpart that the escalation in Yemen would increase the scope of the war and destroy the peace process.

Abdullahian stressed to his Qatari counterpart the need for intensive cooperation between Tehran and Doha to bring peace and stability to Yemen and Afghanistan.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry quoted the Qatari foreign minister as confirming Doha's concern about the increase in tension in the region, stressing that there are no military solutions to the Yemeni crisis, and that the current situation in Yemen is not in anyone's interest, and that the solution is through dialogue.

Meet the Iranian President

For its part, the Iranian presidency said that the Qatari foreign minister met Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi and handed him an official invitation to attend the Gas Exporting Countries Summit in Doha.

The Iranian presidency added that Raisi assured the Qatari foreign minister that deepening relations with neighboring countries is in the interest of regional security.

The Iranian presidency also reported that Raisi assured the Qatari foreign minister of Tehran's readiness to enhance bilateral and regional cooperation with all countries, and Tehran's continuation of its policies, and that Washington's maximum pressure has become in vain.
